Wale stills proves his lyrical talent and artistic genius on the album. And it probably isn’t going to land him new fans or make any established ones jump ship. I will say this, any doubt about Wale losing his touch whatsoever as a lyricist is no longer present. No one who thinks Wale’s been doomed and/or laughable since 2010, when he jumped on Waka Flocka Flame’s No Hands (the sort of great club anthem Wale himself seems incapable of making) will have their minds changed by The Album About Nothing.
don’t get me wrong there are a few bangers on Shine, but none that truly stand out to me. The album is mostly consisted of mainstream pop songs which is great for sales but not for longtime fans hoping for the poetic backpacker from MMG. New album with a 90s comedic twist The DC-based artist Wale released his second studio titled The Album About Nothing which was influenced by his self-proclaimed good friend Jerry Seinfeld, who gives every song on the album an intro. He definitely doesn’t go against the grain. Wale does very as to stay with the wave and appeal to radio stations. I usually do a track by track review on new albums but I decided to sum this album up into insightful opinion s as a whole. Well, Wale has just released his latest project, ‘Shine’ 2 days ago. Wale granted his fans with a mixtape in between that held its own and was a treat to longtime fans.
It’s been since 2015 that he released his full length EP ‘The Album About Nothing’. It’s been awhile since Wale has dropped an album.
